The Knoxville Chapter of Tennessee Interfaith Power and Light is having a food, fun, and informative fundraiser on Sunday, October 4, 6-8 p.m., at the Church of the Good Shepherd (5409 Jacksboro Pike) in the Parish Hall. Enjoy a wonderful homemade vegetarian feast with chili and all the fixings, as well as salad, beverages, and dessert.
The evening’s program will be focused on sustainability, beginning with screening of “The Good in the Garbage,” a documentary that takes a deep dive into how Tennessee is making a positive difference, one compost pile at a time.
Discussion of the film and information about Knoxville composting programs will be led by a panel of local experts:
*Kyleigh Mueller, Waste and Resources Outreach Coordinator for the City of Knoxville
*Ella Dohrmann, UT Compost Facility supervisor
*Kat McDearis, founder and owner of Green Heron Composting Services
Each year, we offer a pottery bowl designed and made by a local artist. Continuing a planetary theme, this year’s bowl features Mercury.

Dinner plus the bowl is $40; dinner only is $20. Bowls can be purchased separately for $25.
