Free Movie Screening: “Other Side of the Hill”

July 8, 2021 by Ted Jackson

View the Interfaith Power & Light summer film, Other Side of the Hill starting July 10! Movie: Other Side of the Hill

Register here to view it at home or screen it for your congregation and buy the kit.

OTHER SIDE OF THE HILL explores the impacts of a changing climate as seen through the eyes of local leaders on the ground.  This is a beautiful story of light, hope, and progress, set in a rural area devastated by the collapse of its lumber industry. The film amplifies the voices of rural communities often left unheard. In a time of unprecedented cultural divide between rural and urban communities, this film finds common ground in an urgency to address a changing landscape.

The film will be available for free online viewing July 10 – 25.

Purchase the downloadable screening kit for only $9.95.

The IPL screening kit for the Other Side of the Hill IPL features a pre-recorded webinar conversation with two of the film’s rural activists as we discover deep intrinsic values that cross the political spectrum: family, connection to the land, stewardship, and love of place. By focusing on what brings us together rather than what divides us, we can all come together to ensure a healthy, thriving planet. This webinar conversation is only available through the kit.

The value-packed kit also includes general and faith-based questions for discussion, promotional materials, and an evergreen Climate Conversation Guide on talking about climate change with people across the religious or political spectrum. Use this kit to spark meaningful conversation at your film screening discussions.

This new film can help us bridge divides to create a beautiful future for our children and grandchildren.
