Climate Justice Revival – Chattanooga – March 1&2

Saturday, March 1 at 8:30 AM – 9:00 PM through Sunday, March 2 at 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Join us for this two day celebratory revival! Renew your spirit and leave with a plan to bring peace and justice for yourself and others in our community.

You don’t want to miss out on this event! There will be opportunities for outdoor discoveries, art creations, singing and dancing, inspirational workshops, food, and conversation. Children will have the option of participating in programs and activities specifically designed with children in mind. For those in need of childcare, we offer on site childcare.

Featuring Gopal D. Patel, internationally known faith-based speaker. Gopal D. Patel believes in the power of engaged religion and spirituality to transform our approaches to today’s biggest challenges.

On Saturday night from 7 PM to 9 PM we will have live music on site featuring Matt Hicks.

We will talk through:

  • – transitioning from extraction to sustainability
  • – tracking climate change challenges
  • – envisioning and building a thriving community

General admission for adults and children ages 13+ is $35. Admission for children ages 8-12 is $25, and children 7 and under are free. General admission tickets include all aforementioned activities, coffee, tea, and light snacks in the morning, as well as lunch and dinner on March 1st. On March 2nd coffee, tea, light snacks, and lunch will be served. As the focus is on climate justice, please bring your own water bottle or cup for each person in your group. There will be a water refill station provided. Please also ensure to select tickets for every member of your party, including those ages 7 and under.

  • 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM Gopal Patel Speaker and Discussion Leader
  • 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM Introduction to the Chattanooga Climate Action Plan and why this is important to the climate challenges we are experiencing
  • 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM Musical Break
  • 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM Box Lunches with water (bring your own water bottle please!) – included in the price of registration
  • 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM Breakout #1: Food, Land and Growth/Sprawl
  • 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM Breakout #2: The Economics of Climate Change & stories of the future
  • 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM Breakout #3: Eco-Psychology, Forest Bathing, Finding a Nature Practice
  • 2:00 PM – 2:45 Breakout #4: Energy Use and the Environment.
  • 2:45 PM – 3:45 PM Walk the Labyrinth and snack break
  • 3:45 PM – 4-45 PM Breakout #5: Creating your own Climate Plan
  • 3:45 PM – 4:45 Optional Breakout #6: Art in the Tent, drum, wander around the grounds, write on flipchart…relax
  • 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Closing for the day:
    • Naomi Self teaches us an environmental song.
    • Mandy/Sandy/Judith facilitate group dialogue on how the day has been
    • Reverend Mandy: Prayer/Meditation for our work today or Something else
  • 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Beans and Rice Dinner in Sanctuary – everyone helps with set up
  • 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Roaming Puppets and Music from Matt Hicks (local singer) in the Tent
